By using Street Paws you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
The app is operated by Pao, contactable at phstraydogs@gmail.com. It is free, carries no advertising, and is provided as a community tool.
1. What this app is, and is not
Street Paws helps people find, feed, report and get help for stray dogs.
It is not a veterinary service, an emergency service, or a law-enforcement service. Information in the app — including the food-safety guidance — is general and may not suit a particular animal. If a dog is seriously injured, contact a veterinarian. For cruelty in progress, contact the police or the barangay.
2. Your account
- You must be at least 13 years old.
- One account per person. Accounts created to evade a ban may be removed.
- You are responsible for what happens under your account.
3. Feeding animals — your responsibility
The app lets you record food and water you give to a dog. You are personally responsible for what you feed. Unsuitable or toxic food can harm or kill an animal, and may expose you to complaints or action under the Animal Welfare Act (RA 8485).
Read the food-safety list. Give only safe food and clean water. If a dog is flagged as a rabies risk, do not approach it — feeding is disabled on those dogs for a reason.
4. Photographs and location are required
Reports need a photo taken in the app and your GPS position. This is deliberate: a report that cannot be verified is worse than no report, because it wastes the time of people who would otherwise be helping a real animal.
By submitting, you confirm the photo is yours, taken at that place, and shows what you say it shows.
5. Reporting cruelty
Report only what you have actually seen. A false accusation of animal cruelty can seriously harm an innocent person.
Your name is hidden from the public on cruelty reports. It remains visible to moderators, and may be disclosed if required by law or if a case proceeds to the authorities.
6. Vehicle details
If you record a vehicle involved in hurting an animal, record only what you actually saw — its type, colour, make and model.
The app does not ask for licence plates, deliberately: a misremembered plate is an accusation against someone who did nothing.
What you do record is visible only to moderators and verified rescuers, never to the public, and is deleted 90 days after the case closes. You may withdraw it at any time. Deliberately entering a false description will result in a ban.
7. Sharing your location during a rescue
Responding to a rescue shares your live position with others, as described in the Privacy Policy. You choose to do this each time and can stop at any moment.
8. Claims about dogs
You may claim a dog as yours, apply to adopt, or contest someone else's claim. These are community processes with time-limited windows, not legal determinations of ownership. This app cannot and does not decide who legally owns an animal.
Every contest requires a written reason and is recorded with your name for moderators to review.
9. Things you must not do
- Post content that is false, abusive, harassing, or unlawful
- Impersonate anyone, or claim a dog you have no connection to
- Enter vehicle descriptions or accusations you have not witnessed
- Interfere with a rescue, or use rescue location data to find or follow a person
- Harm an animal for any reason, including to create something to report
- Scrape, resell or bulk-extract data from the app
Breaking these can result in removal of content, a warning, or a permanent ban.
10. Moderation
Moderators may remove content, revert changes, end a rescue response, and ban accounts. Actions are recorded in an audit log. If you think a decision was wrong, write to phstraydogs@gmail.com.
11. Your content
You keep ownership of your photos and text. By posting you give us permission to display them in the app and to share them with authorities or animal-welfare organisations where that helps an animal or a case.
Records about dogs remain after you delete your account, with your name removed — see the Privacy Policy.
12. No warranty, and limits
The app is provided "as is". We do not guarantee it will be available, accurate, or that help will arrive. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for loss arising from your use of it — including decisions made based on information here.
Nothing in these terms removes rights you have under Philippine consumer law.
13. Beta
The app is in beta. Features may change or break, and cosmetic items are free during this period and are not purchases.
14. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of the Philippines.
